BREAKFAST THIEVES – FITZROY, MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

Breakfast Thieves is a Melbourne cafe serving Asian twists on Modern Australian food. If you are looking for a cute place to brunch in Melbourne’s food scene, this is it!

STAFF:

Staff are friendly, attentive and service is quick.

WAIT:

There was a bit of a queue when we got there but not a very long one. We were heading there on Labour Day and weren’t sure if they were open so we called to check and ended up placing a reservation since we were already on the phone to them. And glad we did so. Even though we had to wait about 5-10mins,  we got a table quicker than some that arrived before us.

ORDER:

ROBIN the FISHERMAN – Ocean trout fillet, citrus cured & pan fried with chilled kewpie potato mash, seaweed puree, beetroot, avocado mousse, radish, watercress & poached egg AUD21.0

MR BENEDICT – Newmarket’s smoked leg ham, poached eggs with yuzu-hollandaise sauce on sourdough toast AUD18.0

RATE:

Both dishes were delicious although the ocean trout could have been a little less salty. The food is reasonably priced but lunch items are definitely more worth the price!

This cafe has a relaxing ambiance and is a perfect chic place to brunch.
